Good Food Here NOT Closing and News

Got word this weekend that the southeast Portland food cart pod Good Food Here is not closing as was previously reported. The property sale did not go through, so at this time, there is no plans to close the pod by summer’s end. We’ll continue to track the movement of vendors if and when that takes place.

You’ve always wondered about the food carts on SE Belmont and 34th haven’t you. Well, wonder no more. Some enterprising cart owners have re-launched the spot for summer. Belmont Street Eats will feature items from Rockin’ Robyn’s Sassy Burger, Port Dawgs, Momo Cart (Himalayan) and Bulkogi Fusion. Beyond the food, they’ll have music, an open mike and more. More details here.

The final week of the World Cup is here, so a reminder if you want to enjoy street food while watching, you can find do so at the following locations – Cartlandia, Mississippi Marketplace and PROST! and The World Cup Beer Garden. Our original post with more details here.

More food cart pods are on the horizon. We’ve learned of new lots being developed in Parkrose on NE Sandy, in Happy Valley off Sunnyside Rd and in SE Portland off SE 82nd and Powell. When they get closer to opening, we’ll let everyone know.

The Oregonian released its Top 10 new Food Carts for year so far. A great list including some of my favorites including Ash Wood Fires, Burrasca, Mama Chow’s Kitchen, and THICK. They event showcased a vendor from Carlton, deep in wine country. Road trip ensues. Whole article here.

Summer is here indeed, so remember, if it is 90 outside, it is 110 inside the food cart or truck, so give your favorite food vendor a break on really hot days. They may decide to close early.

Enjoy!
