A reader contacted us looking for carts that also do catering or are mobile and can come to an event. We get a lot of these types of inquiries and don't really have a full list. What I thought was intriguing about this most recent email was that they want carts for a wedding. How cool would that be? Like with Thanksgiving, we're trying to compile a list of carts that will be open during Christmas and New Year's week. I know most everyone will be shut down on Christmas day, but leading up to that, there will be some hungry shoppers or out-of-towners who want to try a cart. Let us know and we'll get the word out that you are either open or closed. _______________

A couple of new carts are set to open here in December and they have me excited. Big Ass Sandwiches will be setting up shop on SW 3rd and Ash and offering up crazy big sandwiches. The Green Lantern is on the verge of opening up on SW 9th and Washington. The Green Lantern will specialize in vegetarian/vegan fare. I'll post more details as they emerge or when they open. All of Portland was giddy when they first saw the big pink Voodoo donut truck rolling around town last summer and showing up at events. Now comes some comfort food competition. Belgian Fry masters Potato Champion will be launching a mobile truck this month to roam the city and feed the masses their amazing delights. So excited to see what they have cooked up. Watch for the truck in mid-December. _______________
