Portland Opera's BIG NIGHT

The Portland Opera kicks off its 48th season with their 2nd annual BIG NIGHT concert and gala. George Manahan returns to conduct Jonathan Boyd, Michael Todd Simpson, Jennifer Forni and the Portland Opera Resident Artists join the Portland Opera Orchestra and Chorus on stage for an evening of your favorite opera arias, duets and choral pieces from Puccini, Verdi, Mozart and Wagner. And you can watch outside from the park on a huge screen hung from Keller Auditorium.

There is a pre-concert Street Fair with emcee Sasha Rois from GRIMM and musical treats that include Vagabond Opera and the Rose City Swing Band. Bring your appetite and a blanket - there will be food offerings from Bro-Dogs, Fuego de Lotus, Taco Pedaler and Ruby Jewel Ice Cream. After the main concert, a showing of The Marx BrothersA Night at the Operawill take place.

BIG NIGHT starts with the Street Fair at 5pm and the concert commencing at 7:30. Open to the public and there are tickets still available for the show inside. Let's kick off another great season for the Opera.
