If you've ever wondered why you can't find food carts in Beaverton easily, I may have the answer. Beaverton restricts mobile vendors from staying in one location for longer than 7 hrs, so pods can't be built or maintained.

Yet, there may be a change in the offing. The Planning Commission will meet on Wednesday June 26 to review the current regulations and possibly revise them to allow stationary food carts to be located in vacant lots and approved private property. If you're a food cart owner seeking to expand or you're looking to start a cart, Beaverton may be the next frontier. Public comments will be taken. I can't tell you how many requests for food carts west of the hills we get.
