We mentioned this in one of our Food Carts Portland news blurbs last week, but wanted to give it a little extra shout-out.
The pieLab could use a little Portland love to help make their interactive game – slash – downtown pie cart become a reality.
There’s only 3 days left to help the pieLab raise the $241.00 left to meet their overall $1500 goal.
What is the pieLab? It’s part social/economics experiment, it’s interactive, and well, it’s a food cart that will serve pie in a whole new kind of way. Who doesn’t like pie? You can read all about it here

I don’t understand why people need to donate their own hard earned cash to give someone else the jump start they need to generate cash that won’t be paid back as a dividend or interest on the original investment.
Take responsibility for gathering your own starting capital by WORKING FOR IT rather than making it someone else’s responsibility to provide hand outs.

A) Nobody is forcing anyone to support this project. Some people like to help facilitate quirky projects, and have a few bucks they can part with. Not you, but some people.
B) Did you bother to look at the Kickstarter page? If you donate 5 bucks, you get a SLICE OF PIE. Call it a dividend if it makes you feel better.
C) The project appears to be more of an experiment in observing human behavior than a serious, long-term business venture. Without donations, it seems like one of those things that just wouldn’t happen. Some folks like it when stuff like this actually does happen. Again, not you… but some people.
Geez. Relax.

Capitilism is democracy! The point of the free market is that if you bring avaluble asset to the market place, people will support you by buying it. You get pie for a donation? Howis that different than going and buying their product? You start a business with capital and end the day with a profit margin.
