Namu's kimchee is delicious and available by the container too! If you love kimchee go there and ask for a sample (assuming you haven't already eaten their food). Gary and Clint (the owners) have created something unique. I've purchased their kimchee before and this batch is the best yet. I'm not sure what size the round container is though it measures a bit over 4" high by over 4" across diameter. They charge $10 for it. I should probably say that their food is really good too with my favorite the pulled pork sandwich.

I also recently had the kalbi and it was nearly inedible, never had so much fat on a short rib. the kimchee was okay, not even close to the best i've had in portland. we also tried the bibimbap and it was alright. there are much better korean places to eat for the price. however i would like to try the pulled pork.

Hello Everyone,
We have moved to 43rd and Belmont. We are open from 11-9 every day.
I apologize if the ribs have fat on them, we buy from Lonely Lane Farms and the cows are all grass fed. They have FAT on them and it is delicious.
Thank you

i was super excited to try the food today. i ordered the sampler. i went with the kalbi short ribs and pulled pork, a little korean and a little hawaiian. the owner did say the flavors were more hawaiian then korean.

after driving my lovely lookin plate back to my house i dove in.
unfortunately, half of the pulled pork was fat and most of the ribs were grizzle. the part of the ribs that i could eat was very tough which was sad because it did have some nice flavors going on.
i also had problems locating the peanut sauce that was to come on my plate.

now the kimchee was very flavorful and i would order it over and over again.

overall, i was dissappointed with the quality of the meats. He has some nice hawaiian flavors happening but the love was just not in my plate today ;(

Went to the cart on Belmont about a month ago and they were out of pulled pork, the guy (Gary I think) made me a chicken sandwich and threw on a few extra pieces of love, put some kim chee on top of it and drizzled it in their amazing bbq sauce. The rice is fantastic, I absolutely love the cucumber salad, kim chee is great, bigger portions for a side than at Koi Fusion and much better quality. As a devoted carnivore I even enjoy the vegan bowl.

What I'm trying to say is this place kicks ass, you will not be disappointed.

Hi There Shecky,
I apologize for your less than steller ribs. We buy our ribs from a small farm called Lonely Lane Farms and every cow has a different amount of fat on it because they are grass fed and vary in size. I can certainly understand wanting your money back if you are not happy with your meal. If you decide to come back your next meal is on the house.

Sincerely,
Gary at NAMU
