Another week, more great cart news:
Garden State, a Portland favorite in the Sellwood neighborhood will be the highlight of Good Morning America’s food cart series. We discussed this awhile back stating that GMA was looking for viewers to submit their favorite food cart from around the US and it looks like Garden State made the cut. Well done! GMA will be at Garden State off SW 13th and Lexington on Thursday around 10:30 to do the filming that will air on Saturday morning. If you are a food cart fan and love Garden State, head on down there Thursday for the filming and then vote for Garden State in the national GMA contest. (more details on that when we get it.)

More Garden State news – Garden State will be closing their Sellwood cart in mid-December in order to focus their energies on opening a second cart at Mississippi Marketplace in North Portland. The new cart is slated for opening in January with the Sellwood cart to re-open in February. Another example of food cart success. The O has more details.

The Grilled Cheese Grill is making some national press. Their Jalapeño Popper is highlighted in an article in Rachel Ray’s magazine Everyday. With the likes of grilled cheese sandwiches from across the US, The Grilled Cheese Grill show their metal. If you haven’t tried one of their sandwiches, you should. The Grilled Cheese Grill is located at NE 11th and Alberta and is open both for lunch and late evening/night.

FYI, The Fried Onion and The Frying Scotsman are located on NW Raleigh, not NE.
No Wy’East until spring? How sad!
Can someone estimate how long a Portland winter lasts — and how long until their wonderful pizza will return??

Mingma,
You have the talent. Maybe you’ve got the next food cart concept?
Must be thinking of the cart that sets up at the Saturday market (and only there, as far as I know). I can’t think of the name–but it’s too bad they’re not an everyday concern. . .
