2009 Food Cart Festival April 18th!

My peeps over at Willamette Week are holding their second annual EAT MOBILE event this coming Saturday, April 18, from 5:30-9:30 pm, at the Disjecta space at 8371 N. Interstate Avenue. Disjecta is conveniently located one block from the Interstate MAX stop at N. Denver. Get off MAX at the Kenton/N. Denver stop.
The cost is only $5.00 and includes plenty of generous samples from a whole bunch of different food carts and live music. Cocktails and other drinks available for separate purchase. All ages are welcome and last year it turned out to be a terrific (and cheap) family event. This year also includes Portland’s first ever “Carty Awards” for the best food carts in Portland as chosen by a panel of local judges. I do have to say, get there early though. Last year proved to be so popular that food ran out after just a couple of hours!
Oh, and could Eat Mobile 2009 get any better? It’s also a benefit for Mercy Corps NW, a group I highly respect and support for their efforts in local microeconomic development and entrepreneurship. Go Mercy Corps!
For more information, check out Eat Mobile on Willamette Week’s Website.
See you there!

Doh! I’ll be in Sac town for a wedding this weekend. too bad. 8(
I went last year and it was excellent.
The best of show was Junior Ambassadors’ ice creams, yummmm!!!
(IMO of course)
Actually – you’ll wamt to get off at the Kenton/N Denver Ave MAX Station
Thanks Amy,
Fixed.
Also, the Blazers game will be showing on 3 screens. I think the sound will be off when the bands are playing, but no one will miss the game! Or, if you are lucky enough to have tickets to the game, take the Max here and get a cheap and wonderful bite to eat and some good beer before the game. Much better than $8 beers at the Rose Garden!
I was SO looking forward to the Food Cart Festival. What a great idea to spotlight all our great food carts here in Porltand. Unfortunately we went in and turned right back around and got our money back. Don’t go hungry or with hungry kids. Prepare to wait, wait, wait. If you went with this attitude you may have had fun.
