I expected a lot more from Boonrod than I got; the lines at this cart are fairly long. My Pad Kee Mao was overly sweet, with very little basil or broccoli, and the portion itself was half the size of other Thai carts I’ve tried. The owners are exceptionally friendly, but there are definitely better values in the neighborhood.
I am addicted to this thai cart. I don’t know what kind of portions Derek is talking about, but they are HUGE & I usually cannot finish the plate. A personal favourite of mine is Curry noodle. Everything I have ever gotten from them tasted fantastic, and I go see them at least twice a week. The owners are exceptionally friendly and the spring rolls are tasty. And $5 bucks for great service & great food, you can’t go wrong.
The best yellow curry of all the PSU Thai carts. Right now I’m actually eating one from Suliyothai further down(waaaay too sugary sweet, no turmeric-it’s not even yellow!), and wishing I got it at Boonrod. I wanted to review this horrible candy curry from Suliyothai here, but I see it isn’t listed yet.
The nice lady at Boonrod always seems to put so much care into each dish she makes, and they’re huge portions. Boonrod is the only Thai cart for me from now on.
