I had lunch at whichever one has a branch over by PSU (New Taste, I think?) a week or so ago, and it was pretty dreadful. Veg combination, including some very bitter, undercooked eggplant. A disappointing meal–except, for some reason, for the naan, which was more like chapati, chewy, floury and delicious.

Can’t speak from the vegan perspective (though I’m more likely to eat like a vegan at an Indian place than elsewhere), but Real Taste of India definitely is my favorite of the two. Once a year, I’ll forget why I didn’t like New TOI and try it again. But only once a year. It’s not that it’s horrible (heck, even Real TOI is hit-and-miss). Just … meh?
